Squamous Cell Carcinoma / Epidermoid Carcinoma :
Malignant epithelial tissue neoplasm which is derived from the stratified squamous epithelium. Most commonly seen in Smokers,alcoholics with nutritional deficiencies,UV radiation,viruses,sharp tooth trauma,sepsis,some other related factors like -- Gene , Plummer Vinson Syndrome, Leukoplakia, Discoid Lupus Erythematosus , Lichen Planus ,Viruses (HSV OR EBV) and others.
Appearance could be Extensive oral leukoplakia and Erythroplakia. Initially the lesion is asymptomatic with a variegated patch or a nodules or fissure over the oral mucosa.
Later advanced lesion present is either enlarging,exophytic or invasive ulcers and might be with a verrucous growth.Elevated and everted margin occurs due to different growth rate. The lesion becomes painful only due to secondary infections or nerve involvement. Cause paresthesia as well and is a to be confirmed by a biopsy. Surgical removal is definitely risky because of the metastasis.
Case study – Old Muslim patient had come to the hospital with a complain of pain in the left side of his mouth and difficulty in intake of food. He had painful state during mastication and swallowing. No lesion was observed from outside and the patient was seemed to be healthy. Lymph node of the affected side was tender . From Intra oral examination it had white speckled patch and had rapid invasion into the surrounding tissues. SCC Confirmed by Biopsy .
It is no secret that I have a very deep and personal relationship with God. I have pushed and resisted that relationship this past year through all the bullshit I have had to go through living with Herpes but once again, God is bigger than my stubbornness and broke through that outbreak cold sore and all I had Genital Herpes.
